One Night Only at the Veteran’s Lodge

A System-Adventurous Scenario of Cosmic Pro Wrestling

This is not system-neutral, agnostic to rules and structure. Rather, it is system-adventurous, leaning into styles of play and supporting game systems that align with the gameplay promise: indie pro wrestlers taking on the resident intergalactic gladiators in small-town America.

This scenario includes:

• 11 characters, both the residents of Ballowton, North Virginia and the squad of intergalactic gladiators that crashed and integrated into their community.
• 6 specific locations within the town for your characters to explore and interact with their fans (and foes).
• The Unwritten Timeline of events to guide your game from bus breakdown to main event. 
• A primer on making pro wrestling characters to play in any system, and guidance on playing out the matches with both action- and non-action-oriented ttrpgs.
• Specific business for locations, events and characters to suit different approaches for play.
• A Custom Move for the World Wide Wrestling RPG.
• An Appendix covering what the approaches are and how to use them in play.

What is Yet to Come

Each Adventurer & Hobbyist Annual collects material around a loose theme. The theme for this inaugural edition is Caught Between Worlds. The three scenarios are:

• One Night Only at the Veteran's Lodge: Your traveling van of indie pro wrestlers breaks down in a small town. Some townsfolk are fans of the sport, others want to get work or money out of you; but most importantly, the resident intergalactic gladiators are looking for new competition. Get in the squared circle in this over-the-top competition for money, freedom, and perhaps life itself! Approaches include pro wrestling action, comedy, cozy, horror and adventure.
• Escrow of the Damned: A new subdivision appears in your sleepy 80s suburb, and when you sneak in to check it out, nothing is quite right. What has the Devil's Realtor sold to your new neighbors... and what are they actually getting? Find in out in this "HOA-crawl" mystery. Approaches include weird horror, kid exploration drama, monster-fighting action and comedy.  
• Mission Beyond the Moon: A 1970s NASA mission that never was sends you through a wormhole on the dark side of the moon to a weird lost world where sorcery reigns! Your ship system fails, landing you between two rival wizards and the indigenous dinosaur-people they use as vassals and tools. Take sides, strive to escape or carve out your own domain in this sword-and-planet adventure! Approaches include: pulp action, dramatic thriller, sci-fi problem solving and strange exploration.   

This Annual also includes an adventure map and mini-game: The Perpetual Library. You can use The Perpetual Library as an adventure location for any game where characters seek wisdom or knowledge, and the mini-game as a one-shot or side quest for your ongoing tales of adventure.
